Ghost in the Machine - The industrial era gave rise to the “Machine” but capitalism was the invisible hand that instigated a fetishism of commodities and perpetuated rampant consumerism. As individuals became alienated from their product and their work they too became cogs of the big machine. It is this alienation that harbors the ghost in the machine, empty people producing empty products that continues to haunt generations to come.
